A brake caliper is a critical component of a disc braking system, commonly found in automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles. Its primary function is to apply pressure to the brake pads, which in turn create friction against the rotor (disc) to slow down or stop the vehicle.Key Features of a Brake CaliperPiston Housing:Contains one or more pistons that press the brake pads against the rotor when hydraulic pressure is applied.Brake Pads Slot:Holds the brake pads securely in place while allowing smooth movement during braking.Mounting Brackets:Provides the structural interface for attaching the caliper to the vehicle's suspension or wheel assembly.Bleeder Screw:Allows air to be removed from the brake system to ensure effective hydraulic pressure.Guide Pins:Facilitate the caliper’s sliding motion for even pressure distribution on the brake pads.
